Mr. Carter was born and raised in a small town in Arizona. Following in his parents footsteps he attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a double major in history and geography. One of his most treasured memories while at Texas Tech, was watching Tech beat #1 UT in 2008 (thank you Michael Crabtree). His first two years of teaching was at Irons Middle School in Lubbock. While there he taught US history, Texas history, and world geography in addition to his coaching responsibilities in football, wrestling, and track. In 2013, he moved to the Metroplex to be with his then fiancee (and now wife). In his first year at North Mesquite High School he "taught" the ISIP class. Now in his third year at North, he is extremely happy to be in his second year teaching AP US History.
When not teaching Mr. Carter attempts to stay up to date on the newest memes, gifs, pop culture, and lingo in order to understand some of the gibberish his students use in class.
